Sony DCC-FMT50UD Car FM Stereo Transmitter with USB power Review

Sony DCC-FMT50UD Car FM Stereo Transmitter with USB power
Average Reviews:

First there's all the wires you have to figure out how to string about the vehicle. Then the transmission to the radio is very weak -- I really expected much better reception considering the short distance involved. I was able to find two or three frequencies where it would work, but it seemed like the resulting audio was poor quality.

Monster A-IP-FM-CH-PS Wireless FM Transmitter Review

Monster A-IP-FM-CH-PS Wireless FM Transmitter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First off, people are getting this transmitter confused with the previous Monster FM transmitter. You are NOT limited to only 8 stations. This transmitter allows you to program in ANY station you choose, and it's very easy to do so.
Pros:
You can program in any station! The stations are NOT predetermined so any empty station you find, just program it in and youre set to go, which makes this perfect for road trips.
Charges up your iPod while you go.
You can set three 'favourite' stations so you can switch back and forth between a couple if one goes out.
Very simple and easy to use. Not a lot of cords to get tangled up.
Cons
Every FM transmitter you buy for your iPod is going to have a loss in sound quality. It is NOT going to sound like youre playing a CD. It sounds like the radio.
No dock or anything to set the little station switcher on. I would've like even a double sided sticker mount so I could stick it to the dash or something instead of it hanging there, but I'm really just being picky here.
Finding a station in the surrounding Cleveland area was tough! There are hardly any completely static stations (I never realized how many darn country stations there are here, yeesh.) So far I have found 4 open stations. However, this is NOT the companys fault. Finding a clear open station is soley going to depend on where you live and where you are when you drive.
I found 3 completely open static stations starting at 87.5 and up. OF COURSE, this FM transmitter starts at 88.1. Grrr. But it wasn't a problem because in the end I was able to find 4 open ones throughout the spectrum. However, it would've been nice if it started at 87.5.
Okay this is COMPLETELY an aesthetic complaint but I dislike red LED lights. My car has blue so it doesn't match, but once again, that is completely nitpicking.
All in all, this is worth the money. It really is a must if you want to play your iPod on the road, but don't expect it to sound like your surround sound home theatre system. It is an FM transmitter.

This is one of those gadgets that everybody raves about it, but you are not quite sure if that hype is beter that the product. Well in this case I'm very happy to say that DELPHY Skyfi2 is an awesome product & XM radion has a great radio line-up. A big plus was that you do not need to be an electronic wizard to hard wire the unit. The unit was very easy to install & with the exception of one trip to the local electronic store for an FM modualtor & the atena "piggy tails" the whole instalation took me approx. an hour & 1/2. My favorite feature of this unit is "play back" mode. In conclussion, go & get your unit & have lots of fun with it.

CE LABS VG5EK VGA Over Cat-5 Extender Kit Review

CE LABS VG5EK VGA Over Cat-5 Extender Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This unit "worked" out of the box, but despite my best efforts the monitor display was so dark it was unreadable in ordinary light. Since the units do not allow any adjustment, that was it - an unreadable display. This persisted at all color depths and resolutions. And it was not the monitor's fault. Along with this unit from CE Labs, I ordered similar devices from Startech which performed flawlessly using the same monitor. I asked Amazon to replace this with a Startech unit. Sorry, can't recommend it.
UPDATE to the above review (written a few days later). I have egg on my face and I offer 1000 apologies to CE Labs and Amazon. Actually there ARE two adjustment controls at the base of the receiver which in my initial haste I did not see. All it took was a simple adjusting of the gain on the receiver for the monitor's brightness to increase. Now the unit works perfectly. If I'd read the manual at first I'd have seen this. Amazon does not allow me to change the number of stars, but I now give this item a full 5 stars.

We just purchased a small RV and needed a DVD player and TV screen in the rear part of the coach. Installation was a breeze, and the unit works great. As a bonus, our 7-yr old grandson loves the classic video games built in to the unit. Well worth the price of admission!

I purchased this slightly skeptical and I should have gone with my instinct. This was a cheap piece of plastic that wasn't worth the wait or the few dollars I spent on it.
First of all -- the FM transmitter didn't do anything, except fuzz the few stations that it was trying to connect with. The hing on the adaptor was so loose that it kept falling forward, there was no way to tighten it because the "screw" was a piece of plastic that was so soft it stripped it.
Also the clamp that holds the ipod in was so loose that my Ipod kept falling out... I don't know how anyone could sell this.
Also -- found out this seller doesn't take returns, only exchanges.

Planet Audio PFM2 Wired FM Modulator Review

Planet Audio PFM2 Wired FM Modulator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I get great quality with my unit. Only the tiniest bit of hiss, no more than any other radio feed. There is a high pitched whine on AM when in underground parking structures, but that's where my AM reception is dying anyway.
Make sure you properly ground the device during installation to minimize interference. If you don't like the sound quality, just flip the 4 jumper switches to a different frequency to find one you like! This lets me use my mp3 player in Los Angeles, where the cigarette lighter FM modulators with wireless transmitters are absolutely useless.
For the money, it's wonderful. Doesn't come with many cables, though. You'll have to buy your own RCA-stereo mini plug cable.

Sony DRBT100CX Ear Bud Style Stereo Bluetooth Headset Review

Sony DRBT100CX Ear Bud Style Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
OK, understand that I am VERY particular about my gadgets and read tons of reviews before ever purchasing anything... my wife absolutely hates it, but it keeps me from having to return crap. In this case, I spent a good 15 - 20 hours in all researching bluetooth headphones.
I previously owned a pair of the BestBuy brand Insignia headphones which have started to crap out over the past few months. While I am not a super heavy runner, these seemed to stand up to the sweat OK, but rather started having a pairing issue when connecting them to my Iphone... About 1 out of every 20 times I would connect, it would somehow lockup the headphones and I would be unable to get them to pair again until I had let the headphones fully discharge. This became a big problem for me as I would then have to go for about a week w/o my bluetooth headphones every time that they would lock up. That said, it was time for a new pair.
When initially searching for my next set, I was looking at the Motorolla S9's, as these seemed to be intended for people who worked out with their headphones. I was discouraged however by the $99 price tag at the time and the so-so reviews and decided to wait. Upon the S9 HD's releasing, I almost bit the bullet and bought, however continued to hear bad reviews and that ANY sweat whatsoever seemed to break the headphones and warrant a return. This was not the quality that I was looking for and therefore I decided to wait some more.
Next I came across the Plantronics 903. This seemed to be a better contender than the S9's, however still only had so-so reviews and sounded as they may have some similar hardware issues that the S9 suffered from.
Next I started looking at the JayBird JB-200-01, as these are suppose to be nearly waterproof and much more solid than the Motorollas or the Plantronics. That said, they still had a large price tag (much more than the S9 and S9 HD's now) and I began seeing a trend of only so-so audio quality... While I am not expecting a bluetooth headset to match the quality of a standard wired pair, I would like to make sure that I am at least relatively pleased with my $100+ headphones so that I am not looking to replace them in another 6 months. Also, while these headphone look very cool in the pics, I think I would feel somewhat goofy wearing these cyborg like headphones in the gym.
Finally I thought I had found my headphone with the Sony DRBT160AS. These might still be a little goofy looking and some users have said that the back side of these push your ears out very bad.... Still though the reviews seemed to be mostly positive (newegg, amazon, sony, etc). I was just about to order them when I cam across the Sony DRBT100CX/SLV....
The first thing that caught my eye was the great reviews, next to a price that was half of what all of the other headphones I had looked at cost. Previously I had a huge biased against earbud style headphones, however upon purchasing a pair of skull candy headphones a few months back to hold me over, realized how far the earbud has come along. Earbuds now can offer the deep base and 'semi noise canceling' effect that over the ear headphones use to only provide. Additionally, you dont have to worry about having a large uncomfortable plastic piece dangling behind your head when going down for a bench press. One thing that has been a problem for me with earbuds is that I have smaller ear canals, and I would always have to re-push back in the earbud to get the seal to have a good sound... with this pair I was please that it came with 3 different sizes of adapters to fit my ears. The only thing that I was, and still am a bit, weirded out by with this set is that it has the clip with the actual bluetooth adapter on a wire about 24 inches from the headphones themself. This means that you will have to clip these to your shirt or belt area... this almost defeats the purpose of bluetooth headphones, as this means wires hanging down your shirt and the fact that to adjust the volume you have to go to your belt area and not your ear. It is almost like wearing an iPod nano. Still though I decided that this would be the way to go, as everyone seemed very happy with theirs.
Upon receiving them in only a matter of days, i quickly have unboxed these and paired them up with my iPhone with ease. I am tall at 6'3", and I would have preferred about another 6 inches on the wire to the receiver portion of the headphones, as I can just barely stand up straight and not have this tugging down on my ears... anyone taller would deff be annoyed by this. While not an audiophile, the sound is pretty damn good, especially considering the fact that they are bluetooth..in fact, I can barely tell that there is any loss of quality. This may be partially to do with the iPhones superior bluetooth, as my previous pair sounded pretty good on the iPhone but sounded pretty crappy on a WinMo phone that I previously used. I cant remember what pair of headphones it was, but one said that it had a very short range and would not suggest it for more than a few feet away... I just forgot my phone in my office and walked out into our warehouse, where at one point I was well over 75 feet away and had several wall in between... I was blown away! My previous set did not give me even a 1/3 of that distance. Now I am not saying everyone will get 75 feet as that seemed odd to me, but I am in an office where I rarely even have a cell connection because there is so much interference in this area.
I am sure that there is plenty more to talk about, and there are several other headphones that I looked at as well, but my overall suggestion is that as long as you are not taller than me (or would just clip this to your shirt top) that this is a great pair of headphones and well worth the money!
Hope this helps someone! Ill update this if I find anything negatives, but for now I am very happy with my purchase.

SVAT GX3000 Wireless Four Channel Analog Audio/Video Sender and Receiver Review

SVAT GX3000 Wireless Four Channel Analog Audio/Video Sender and Receiver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this transmitter receiver to watch cable in a room with no line access. I placed the receiver about 15 feet away from the cable box and transmitter, and it still did not work. The best reception I got was by holding the receiver above my head as close to the door as possible - not practical for everyday use. In addition, answering the phone caused more static, a "flipping" screen, and crackling sound. Basically, if you do not have a wireless network or a cordless phone, and have direct line of sight between the units, this unit will probably work for you. I don't know anyone that falls in this category...

Wireless Audio/Video Sender/Receiver System Review

Wireless Audio/Video Sender/Receiver System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Okay, bear with me as I unpack the product - first, two sets of RCA cables for stereo audio and composite video, the receiver, the transmitter, a tiny instruction manual, and ... a power supply? No. Just one cable that plugs into the DC input of one of the two units with two exposed wires on the other end that I can, well... solder to a 12V power supply I have lying around somewhere?!
It may not be apparent from the product description, but this unit does not come with its own power supply! It's up to you to provide 12V to each of the two boxes. How many Ampere? How would I know! The instruction manual just says to hook up "any 10-15V power supply".
Well, if you have a couple of general-purpose power supplies in your garage, you can try the product itself. And you'll regret that. The sound quality is a joke, you'll essentially just hear static. I tried putting the two units next to each other with the antennas effectively touching each other, and it was still just noise with a bit of sound. At some point - after choosing the right channel, and when aligning the antennas with the moon, you will hear something, but the quality is still horrific, with a tiny frequency range that makes it sound like you're transmitting the music through a phone connection.
Most of the wireless devices in the area where I tired it ran at a different band, so I can't blame interference. It seems like the device is just bad, plain and simple. There's nothing good I could say about the little details on the side either: There are no LEDs or anything, so you can't tell whether the sender is turned off or if it just sucks. The units themselves are relatively small, if a bit ugly.
All in all, the power supply situation alone is beyond belief. This unit is supposed to be used inside buildings, where you typically don't have exposed 12V cables that you can hook your gadgets to. I could understand it if this unit was designed to be used in a car, but anything that sees its primary application inside buildings needs to come with proper 110V power supplies. But even if it did, the quality is absolutely unacceptable and makes it impossible to recommend this product.

Latte Café 32 GB Video MP3 Player with 4.3-Inch Touchscreen -- Amazon.com Exclusive (Silver) Review

Latte Café 32 GB Video MP3 Player with 4.3-Inch Touchscreen -- Amazon.com Exclusive (Silver)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used latte's products and very satisfied with this little-knwon company's product.
First thing I would like to mention is that they have a very good customer service. I had my Ice 8GB mp3 player that I accidentally broke the screen and the latte replaced the whole unit to the new one.
Now I needed more memory space to upload my home videos and found this latte on Amazon. Ice 8GB is now passed to my son and I got this 32GB mp3 plus the 16GB extra memory. I uploaded most of my home videos(about 40GB) and still have plenty of memory space left for the music. My husband is using the Archos 60GB harddrive mp3 player, but now he wants this latte 32GB cafe mp3 because the response time is a lot faster than the Archos. My husband is telling me that it is becuase of the memory: flash memory should run faster than the harddrive memory.
*Screen: Very sensetive touch screen. Unlike ipod touch, cafe mp3 requires the double click to activate any buttons or lists. But for the price that is around half of the ipod touch 32GB(nowadays, it is around $399), I am very impressed about the quality of this cafe.
*There are not many choice for the high capacity mp3 and the prices are too expensive. I had my research on the high capacity mp3's and found ipod touch($399), Archos 60GB($269) , Sansa($175 but not touch screen and small screen), Zen($235 but not a touch screen), cowon($269.99), and latte cafe($189).
*Sound: reasonable sound quality. pretty much same sound as my previous latte Ice mp3 player(of course, they are from the same company ^_^)
*Video: I am very happy that I can now carry all of my home videos with me. cafe has TV connection feature but I haven't tested.
*Accessories: Nice leather case and the touch pen. Also, the good earphone.
I think the other 32GB mp3s are very overpriced compare to this latte. I hope my review helps.

I finally installed a hard wired bluetooth hands free system in my car after using an earpiece for months/years. The MKi9200 is OUTSTANDING; I wish I had installed one a long time ago. The installation for my 2006 Trailblazer required a wiring harness from one of the Parrot vendors listed on their website which costs an extra $75. Regardless, the voice recognition feature is perfect and the radio mute feature works seamlessly with my factory stereo. The calls are crystal clear and everyone can hear me without any difficulties. I found the installation fairly easy and would recommend this product to anyone who is tired of charging, turning on/off, and finding, your blue tooth ear piece.

WT-1A Wireless Transmitter Set Review

WT-1A Wireless Transmitter Set

I had it connected to my D2x. To set it up working, the WT-1a requires a lot of technical knowhow. If you are the average (or even pro photog)whose computer tech skills are limited, you will hardly get it done. Even if you were successful linking the WT-1A to your computer, maintaining that link in the long run is an irritant because of some glitches that happen from time to time. Transmission time is not that fast as I had anticipated. It takes time for the WT-1a to link-up and "find" your laptop. I have not used it yet with a desktop (could be faster). I had no problems transmitting JPEGs. I tried RAW files and it takes ages waiting for completion of transmission. For the $106 I paid Cameta, it was worth the try. I just wonder why other stores are selling it for over $300.

Bose SL2 wireless surround link - Wireless audio delivery system for rear speakers Review

Bose SL2 wireless surround link - Wireless audio delivery system for rear speakers
Average Reviews:

I recently moved to a new house, and didn't want to drill holes in the walls or floor to get the wires to the back of the room. I was somewhat skeptical about this product and concerned with sound quality. However, I'm happy to say there is absolutely no difference between using the SL2 and hard wiring the rear speakers!
a) The system is made up of two receivers. They are both very small, and are easily concealable.
b) The front receiver plugs into the base module with 2 wires (left & right speaker wires)
c) The rear speakers plug into the rear receiver.
d) Installation complete!
This is an excellent product and I highly recommend it to all.

I live in Los Angeles; there's either a Mexican or Jazz station on every frequency! I tried the cassette-MP3 adapter (which I'd prefer if I didn't have that dreaded auto-reverse feature) and had to return it.
While this product only has 4 channels, they each worked for me with varying success. It's not CD quality, which is obvious when I play my classical music and when my son rocks out to songs with deep bass.
If you're ok with decent sound quality and can't use the cassette adapter, I'd say this product should work great for you.
