Pyle PMP3B2 Mobile SD/USB/MP3 Compatible Player with Built-In FM Transmitter Review

Pyle PMP3B2 Mobile SD/USB/MP3 Compatible Player with Built-In FM Transmitter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This player is pretty amazing. It plays most any mp3 files I feed it. However you have to keep trying until you get a good one. I wanted 2 and went through 4 to get them. One display was barely discernible in total darkness. Actually all four displays were different. Two were adequate but you can't read any of them in sunlight. I have an old USB player that sounds like $&1+ so I plugged it in direct. Bingo, the Pyle played it's files fine. Well 2 of the Pyles did, 2 didn't. That's not a deal breaker but weird.

It broadcasts in .1 MHz steps, 87.5 - 108.0, which is good. One car radio matches up while the other one tunes better .1 off. Your results may vary. When you get close to a radio broadcast tower changing freqs is a button push away.
The sound is very good at 14 out of max 16 on the volume (as long as you have good files). The signal to noise ratio over FM is fairly low but not noticeable at reasonable volumes with a gas engine. If you crank it you will hear some FM noise at stop lights between tracks, etc. In a car where the 12V socket powers off with the ignition, it starts up playing the last song from it's beginning. With full time power I just hit the pause button (no noticeable power drain for days.) When I restart the car it starts up the same as above (from the power surge?)
As far as play, there are only four modes: single, folder, all and random. I can't figure them out. If you have multiple folders it doesn't seem possible to play only one of them in random mode. When you try it will grab tracks out of another folder. When you want to play all folders random it will hang up in one folder until you goose it. Whatever you want, it ain't gonna give you. So I just put one folder per card or stick and then I can choose either "in order" or random. If I want to change "folders" I just change the memory. This is actually doable driving while changing folders isn't practical since you can't see what you're doing. As I can put 25 to 62 hours of audio on a $6 (4Gb) stick in 2010, that's the only way to go for me.
A bonus is that you don't have to "register" the files with the player like a Latte or a Blackberry. Just plug and play.
You only need the remote to change folders or EQ, both unnecessary to me.
You can plug your iPod headphone jack to it if you like. Using the resulting 3 amplifying stages (at least 2 of them being cheap) on your audio seem nuts to me.
BTW, both red ones were bad. I kept a green and a blue one.

CE LABS CAT5TX CAT-5 HD A/V Transmitter Review

CE LABS CAT5TX CAT-5 HD A/V Transmitter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am using the CAT5TX and CAT5RX to ship HD video from my HD TiVo (in the basement) to the master bedroom (on the 2nd floor). Fortunately I had Cat5 already in the walls; I'd say it's about a 150' run. The highest resolution I've gotten from the HD TiVo is 1080i, and it looks perfect on the Sony Bravia 32" LDC in the bedroom.
Setup was easy using 2 CAT5 connections and analog audio. There is a trimmer on each receiver that I did need to adjust to obtain a clear picture. Now it looks as good (to my HD-newbie eye) as the HDMI connection to the living room ... and, because it's analog, there are no worries about some DRM scheme getting in the way.
I am using ordinary Cat5 (not 5e) ... one cable carries video, the other audio+IR. The package includes instructions for sending video + digital audio only (no analog or IR) over a single Cat5; I may try this in another room with my 2nd CAT5RX; this requires making custom RJ45 patch cables according to their instructions.
Although the device claims to relay IR from the receivers back to the transmitter, it does not include an IR hub, pickup or emitter - you're on your own to figure that out. Fortunately I already had IR distribution, so I didn't worry about it.
All in all I love this - you can pause the TiVo in one room and pick up watching in another - what a great setup and it looks perfect. I recommend these devices to anyone wanting to distribute component video at home!

Griffin 10008-SNSATA iTrip Auto FM Transmitter and Car Charger for Sansa Review

Griffin 10008-SNSATA iTrip Auto FM Transmitter and Car Charger for Sansa
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Amazon doesn't have this product, but other online stores have it, and you can get it from the manufacturer. Look around. I paid $69.99 + Shipping for the iTrip from the manufacturer, and it works great.
First off, Griffin has always spent time on their product's outward appearance. How long will you stare longingly at it before you get to actually try it out? Can it be a truly great product if the outside looks like one of those old "Electronic Science Kits" or something? Glossy, smooth exterior almost perfectly matches the Sansa. (The Sansa is more rounded than the iTrip.) How many buttons do you need for something like this? Answer: 3. An up, down, and select button is all you need, and the iTrip's uncluttered front display is perfect for the job.
Operation of the device is nearly plug and play. I have a couple reasons for the "nearly" qualifier:
1. You NEED to make sure you've got the latest firmware from Sandisk for your Sansa. The original firmware was not designed to work with the "Made for Sansa" devices, and won't work without updating. Download the updater from Sandisk before trying out the iTrip Auto. You WILL need your synch cable in order to do this. Once you've got all that together, the actual update is a snap. When I bought the iTrip, I immediately upgraded my firmware, as I knew that I wouldn't be able to do so at work when I got the device. Easy to do, and the iTrip won't work without the new firmware.
2. The iTrip is excellent in that it will operate on any frequency of the FM band. However, I anticipate that this will cause problems with users who accidentally change the band and can't get it back easily. The nice thing is that you have to press the Select button when you find the frequency you want to use in order to change it. So it's pretty easy to set and forget it. I recommend finding your frequency before going on a drive. Better to mess with the distracting electronic device while sitting still.
That being said, the device will work for most people out of the box. I forget what frequency it worked, but it was in the high 80's, which is rarely used for actual broadcast. The thing is backlit, which makes changing stations in the middle of the night a snap. It runs off the car's 12v system, and even charges the Sansa's battery...all without any problems whatsoever.
To answer the guy's complaints about the delay in Griffin getting the technology out the door, he is dead wrong. It's not just a matter of putting a Sansa connector on an iPod iTrip. The simplest thing is getting the sync cable end to work with the internal software of the iTrip. The hard part is working with the Sansa firmware to get it to work. The Griffin device has to be completely compliant with whatever standards Sandisk has, and I guarantee that a major part of the delay was the Sansa firmware itself. If Sansa could avoid releasing firmware updates, they would. However, I would venture to say that the reason they had to release firmware was because the original firmware was impossible to work with, etc. If I had to point the finger at anyone for the delay in devices, I would point to Sandisk for either not providing the firmware specs to the manufacturers in a timely fashion, or else creating a firmware that was originally impossible to work with. It's not just Griffin who was slow...Macally only just got their device out before Griffin, and DLO still doesn't have anything out there for the Sansa.
This device is excellent, and anyone who can lay hold of one, you will not be disappointed.

Listen to your Sansa's music on your car's FM receiver with the Griffin 9202-SNSATA iTrip Auto FM Transmitter and Car Charger. Powered by your car's 12-volt accessory port, this receiver features a backlit LCD for clear visibility during setup. It also plays on the full spectrum of FM frequencies (87.9 to 107.9 MHz), has an operating range of 10 to 30 feet, and is compatible with Sansa C200 and Sansa E200. The iTrip works by sending the music on your Sansa to your car's FM radio, so you can listen to exactly the music you want when you're traveling in the car. Additionally, the iTrip Auto charges your Sansa on the go, so you can enjoy great music while you're driving, and then arrive at your destination with a fully charged player. 5GHz Digital Wireless Video Sender DMA3000T&R Review

5GHz Digital Wireless Video Sender DMA3000TandR
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been using a wireless video sender to share a cable box between two TV's for 10 years. My old one recently started not working very well with microwaves ovens and blue tooth devices.
So I went on a quest to find a new one that would be crystal clear.
In doing research I found that older wireless phones, bluetooth devices and microwaves use a frequency around 2 to 4 GHz. Newer phone technology now uses 6.0 GHz. These units use 5 GHz and use what they call WIVI technology.
They work extremely well, much better than my old ones. No fuzzy pictures or weak signal strength lines. The picture is clear and sharp and sound it great.
I have the transmitter unit on my Comcast DVR on a downstairs TV. I have the sender in a bedroom, one floor higher. This unit has a remote extender built in, so an extra comcast remote works the box downstairs from the bedroom upstairs. I works so well, now I want an extra receiver unit to go to another TV.
This unit is well worth the money and in the long run, saves you cable box fees.

Sekonic L-358 Flash Master Light Meter Review

Sekonic L-358 Flash Master Light Meter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Sekonic L-358 light meter is an excellent meter. I have fallen in love with it. Lots of Today's 35mm SLR camera meters are TTL Meters (reflected light measurement meters). Sekonic L-358 is such a high precision instrument which measures incident, reflected, flash (cord & cordless). I got great digital photos after I have used the reading on 2 different cameras under normal & Flash lights.
The pictures are great out of your camera and do not require any editing if used properly according to the instructions. I like the built in Memory function to store readings, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, 2 ISO functions, Weather proof Seal, Can include optional radio transmitter + receiver modules to wirelessly trigger flash units, So far Battery Life has been Good. This meter does not use "AA" it uses CR-123A so you will have to always carry one spare with you.

what you see is what you get. The product has a universal AUX cable coming out from the bottem of the dock which can be used in any cellphone with a headphone jack. The USB port on the right side facing you is for charging your device. It comes with both Micro and Mini USB cables but you can use whatever cable you have in your possession. Depending on were your cigarette lighter is located in your car you can't really have this device point straight up. If you take a turn and the dock is vertical it will tip left or right, however this is if your lighter is on your dash instead of your console. Audio is alright depending on if you find that sweet spot in the FM dial. It's big enough for the Epic 4g however EVO owners shouldn't gamble on this. For all other phone owners this is a nice Car dock in a iphone run market. If you want anything close to this it will be in peaces instead of one unit.
PROS: All in one design, universal, stylish
Cons: Will tip if vertical depending on location of lighter plugin. FM tuners need a sit down session to find the right station to sync.
I rate it 5 stars because it's the best a non iphone user can get depending on the phone and the accessory support from the main company and other companies. The tip is a problem, but I can't blame the product when it's just were the lighter is in my car. My friend has the same model, but he owns a VW were the lighter is were the emergency brake is so he have it vertical with no problems.
UPDATE***
Well mine just broke. I have theory as to why, but I wont list them because while mine broke my friend's is still working. I'll strongly recommend you to logically look at were your cigarette port is located because this thing is very top heavy.

This is an absolutely awesome device! I had no problem pairing it to my Motorola S305 headset. As for distance I left my iPod Nano 6th generation in one room and walked to the other side of the house and it didn't miss a beat. I had tried a Rocketfish adapter and immediately took it back. The Rocketfish would not keep a connection when I moved. The Kokkia is a very solid product. I can control the iPod from the controls on my headset as well. It is small enough that it does not cover the headset port, meaning I can still listen to the FM radio through the bluetooth while the wired headset is plugged in. I know seems a little silly but the bluetooth headset is much more comfortable than the wired headset, and since I can move around I can leave the iPod on my desk.

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have the Sekonic L358, but I bought it without this module thinking I didn't really need it. I managed for a short while...You have keep a PW transmitter in your hand (or camera around your neck) to fire the strobes and the meter in your other hand where you want take a reading. I becomes quite awkward when you need make any adjustments to your strobes since you have let these things hang around your neck or put something in your pocket. This little module actually frees up your hands and you can keep your heavy camera from swinging around your neck while you make adjustments.
If you plan on using a light meter a lot and choose the L358, do yourself a favor and get this module with it. This module will make your life a lot easier and save you some time in the end.

The wired FM transmiter works great, the interference is minimal, you can only notice it between songs or when the song volume is very low. It is very easy to connect, even in European cars (I own a Renault), all you need is an antenna adapter.
If your stereo does not support RCA inputs (which offers the best sound quality), the best way to connect the HK adaptor for the ipod is this cable. It reduces interference significantly (I tried it both ways: wired and wirelessly and the difference is obvius)

DLO TuneStik FM Transmitter with Remote for iPod (Black) Review

DLO TuneStik FM Transmitter with Remote for iPod (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Received this product about a week ago, purchased solely for the remote feature for my ipod video, mainly for my car, but also for ipod docks in my home. Since I have a dock/charger in my car, the FM transmitter was not neccessary, although a nice adddition. The remote works well, no complaints there, however, the manual states that the FM transmitter can be turned off by cycling through the four preset tuners until you reach the "off" menu. This does not exist, which I confirmed through DLO support. This is not a huge issue, but I do receive minimal static, which is not the case with my ipod mini using the Griffin remote. Sadly, Griffin no longer makes a remote for ipod video, classic and nano. Overall, if you're looking specifically for the remote function and not the FM transmitter, this product is very good, so I do recommend it. Would love to here feedback from other users.

Figured for $12 with shipping I'd try it. Holder works great but the product itself is poor. I also have a Griffin that works very well but wanted something with a holder like this. The transmitter seems faulty as I have tried it in several vehicles and it does not transmit the frequencies for voice very well or if at all. It's like it has a built in Kareoki mode which is fine if you like to sing in your car but I like to hear the performing artist. I will wind up tossing this as it is unusable. The seller delivered as promised but for the price I didn't expect much and I got what I expected.

Veebeam HD | Wireless PC to TV link | 1080p Review

Veebeam HD | Wireless PC to TV link | 1080p
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The veebeam does what it says it will do, but only just. I would say that its very limited in its appeal and use. Read on for more.
Veebeam says that their product is good for viewing streaming video with, and it is in a limited sense. I had my veebeam hooked up via hdmi to my tv, and was streaming from a windows 7 laptop about 10 feet away from the tv (you really need to be in the same room for the veebeam to work).
I found that there was a 1 second delay between what was on the laptop and what was on the tv screen. So if you were hoping to use the veebeam as a wireless second monitor you can forget that.
The image quality was a bit choppy as well unless you use the veebeam player, their free media player. When using this I had good quality video and good quality audio streaming from my computer to my tv - but you can't queue up netflix or other such services with this. It would have to be either media on your computer or dvds/blu-ray discs in your disc drive.
The biggest use of the veebeam would if you want to use it for Hulu, or Netflix, or a similar service, but the diminished quality unless using their player limits that use.
Perhaps even more limiting is the fact that you really need the computer in the same room as your tv to make use of the device. Considering that with most modern devices you can hook up your computer to your tv via hdmi or some other cabled solution and get better quality, the only use for veebeam would if you have a desktop in the same room as your tv and don't want to bother running long cables everywhere, or you have an older tv or older computer where you can't make the appropriate connection.
Even if you are in one of the above situations I am still doubtful that the veebeam is worth $150. If they could have gotten it down to instant streaming (whether through a powered usb transmitter or some other means) the veebeam's value proposition would be much higher. As it is I see it as being a very specific solution to a very specific problem. It will undoubtably be exactly what some people want, but on the other hand it is not powerful or versatile enough to be applicable to everyone's situation. I think 3 stars reflects this fairly well.
On a side note the veebeam software shutdown windows aero when it was in use - no idea why that would be as my computer is more than powerful enough to run the two at the same time.

I have had a few FM transmitters in my lifetime. This was by far the worst and expensive! The sound quality was horrible. I always understood monster as being high quality product associated with premium sound systems. I would frequently have to change the few channels on this FM transmitter and even when I did find one that worked the sound was horrible.
Don't they do rigorous testing before launching this type of product?

Ensure the instructions are in English, I enjoy the aspect of ordering products from other countries but I warn consumers you may wish to ensure the product comes from America not an America company that sells foreign goods in a foreign language. Well it has been about 5 weeks now and many features of this product is unknown to me, the reason is that the entire instructions came written in Chinese. True there is a menu in english, however try to seek selections of the menu and it is written in Chinese. There is a menu for movies, but it is in Chinese. There is a menu for the equilzer, it is in Chinese. The device does play ok but because the fine tuning is in Chinese, I do not know what I am doing. I can not load movies because the instructions are in Chinese. Although the product does state it can do a lot of things that most people are interested in even the instructions were too brief. With everything that the device says it can do there are only 12 lines of instruction. Unless the entire Chinese language is in picture/letters, I would hardly doubt that even if I did speak/read Chinese that the brief instructions would explain the full features of the product. I think I will choose a Sony or other companies that sell their oversees products in a language of the people to whom will use their product. I will keep this until I reorder a different product with instructions in English. Then I will toss it.
