(More customer reviews)I just bought a new 2010 Honda Odyssey and wanted to attach my iPhone to the car stereo. In the past, I've used FM transmitters, cassette adapters, and stereo to aux input jacks. Usually, your vehicle dictates what solution you choose. I'm happy to say, there's a 4th solution that's better than all the solutions I've tried in the past on my previous cars.
My Honda Odyssey has a cigarette lighter and aux input jack next to each other, near the floor between the two front seats. It's a great location for the jacks, next to each other. And I'm not a fan of multiple cords dangling all over the car, as they get in the way of cup holders, trays, and buttons. So if there's a solution that minimizes or eliminates cords, that's right up my alley.
Well, this Monster iCarCharger 1000 seemed like the perfect solution. It has only 1 cord from my iPhone 3G, it connects to my iPhone car mount, it has a nice cable management system that dramatically shortens the cord for the aux input. Life looked really good. Then I read all the comments on this page and was very worried. Matter of fact, I waited 2 weeks before I got the courage to purchase it here on Amazon. I'm happy to say, the reviews on this product were wrong. This is an excellent product.
Other reviews say it doesn't hold in the cigarette light and falls out. Not on my Honda Odyssey. It's very snug in the socket.

The sound is better than any FM transmitter in any car, any cassette adapter in any car, and sounds the same as audio from the stereo headphone to aux input. It's true that you can't adjust the volume on the iPhone using the iCarCharger, but that's ok. Matter of fact, I think that's better, because now I know what level to put the sound to on my car, as opposed to before I had to adjust the volume on the iPhone to 75%, and then adjust the volume on the car. An odd scenario where taking a feature away is an improvement!
I highly recommend this product. Maybe Monster fixed the problems noted by other reviewers. I don't know. But my iCarCharger works wonderfully. And if you want a COMPLETE solution in your car, get a ProClip custom car mount from proclipusa.com and a Plantronics Voyager Pro Bluetooth headset. The headset is available on Amazon, but the car mount is not. I researched all 3 of these products and have been VERY satisfied with them as they have met very high expectations.
