(More customer reviews)I bought the promaster wireless flash trigger and was extremely excited to try it out in my studio. I had been using hot lights for a long time and was anxious to switch to strobes. I had two promaster flashes already and several of their other products and was fairly impressed with the quality and price of them. Everything I have used from promaster is no-frills, just-get-the-job-done type equipment and I have been satisfied...until now. When I got them I immediately hooked the receivers to my promaster flashes and hit the test button.....nothing happened. The flashes did nothing. I changed out ALL the batteries of everything and got the same results. I tried changing every setting into every possible combination and still nothing happened. I thought maybe I had bad equipment (it happens) so I went back to Norman Camera (great folks by the way, very informative and very helpful with everything) and exchanged them. We tried them out right there in the store with the same results. We then tried it with a Sigma flash and it worked great. The guys at Norman let me trade in my Promaster flashes for a couple of Sigmas (it cost a little out of pocket) and I went back home, excited again. I hooked them up, again, and started using them with my camera, D90, and immediately discovered that they couldn't sync any faster than 1/50s. For studio photography that is not gonna cut it, at least if i want nice crisp clear shots anyway. Long story short, if you are photographing inanimate objects than these are fine, if its people or moving objects, buy something else, like the cowboy studio version (its actually cheaper) they work great. I was also dismayed at the fact that they didn't even work with the same brand flash (you would think they would play with their own kind)
